NAGAX

Designing clarity for crypto trading.

NAGAX is the social crypto trading platform from NAGA, an established fintech group, where people trade, hold crypto, and copy top-performing traders in one place. I joined in spring 2022 as part of a three-designer team working under Ministry of Programming, stepping into an already-live product to evolve its crypto experience. My focus was redesigning the two features at the heart of how users hold crypto and decide who to trust with their money, the Wallet and the Leaderboard, and I owned the design system that kept a fast-moving, multi-designer platform consistent as it grew.

The problem

Crypto trading is intimidating, especially for the newer traders a social platform wants to bring in. On NAGAX, two surfaces had to feel both effortless and trustworthy: holding and moving crypto in the Wallet, and deciding which traders to copy on the Leaderboard.

These are harder problems than they look. A leaderboard that ranks purely on raw returns quietly nudges people toward the riskiest bets, which is the opposite of what a copy-trading product should encourage. And a wallet that feels opaque erodes the trust that crypto, with its irreversible actions, especially demands. On top of this, the platform was evolving quickly across a three-designer team, which made visual and interaction consistency a real, ongoing challenge.

The work centered on bringing clarity and trust to these surfaces without adding friction, on a product that was already live and in users' hands.

What was done

Getting up to speed and auditing

Joining a live product, I started by auditing the existing Wallet and Leaderboard, mapping their current patterns and aligning with PMs and the other two designers on where they were falling short.

Reframing what the Leaderboard is for.

Its real job isn't to rank, it's to help users decide who to trust with their money. I reframed it around trader credibility, surfacing performance history, risk, and consistency rather than just top-line returns, so copying felt like an informed decision instead of a blind one.

Redesigning the Leaderboard and copy-trading dashboard

I redesigned how traders are ranked and compared, making track record, risk, and performance legible at a glance, and clarified the dashboard where users manage who they copy.

Redesigning the Wallet

For the Wallet, the goal was to make holding and moving crypto feel approachable and secure: clear balances, legible transaction states, and flows designed to reduce the anxiety around actions that can't be undone.

Owning the design system

Across a three-designer team on a fast-moving platform, I built and maintained the design system, the components, patterns, and standards that kept new features consistent and helped them ship faster.

The result

The redesigned Leaderboard made copy-trading decisions more transparent, giving users clearer signals about who they were trusting and why, rather than chasing raw returns.

The Wallet redesign made holding and transferring crypto feel more approachable on a platform serving everyone from first-timers to experienced traders.

And the design system gave a multi-designer team a shared foundation that held the experience together as the product kept expanding. The work sat within NAGA's broader social-trading ecosystem, a recognized name in the space.
